I started out as a journalist in New Jersey, became a marketing exec in NYC, then moved to Hawaii where I tried my hand at a variety of sales jobs. My drinking and partying landed me in rehab in 1988. I’ve been sober ever since, and reinvented myself as an award-winning screenwriter and freelance marketing/PR consultant.

This blog was inspired by the sight of a dead gecko that was stuck to the frame of my front door. I couldn’t tell if he was trying to get in or get out when tragedy struck. Most likely it was a moment of indecision that led to the gecko’s demise. It’s the same with choices we make — or fail to make — in our own lives.

If you choose to do nothing or are afraid to take action because of uncertainty, well, you may wind up being squashed like that poor little creature. Determine your own fate. Don’t let open doors close on you because of analysis-paralysis or fear of failure!
